we call that expectancy
may 24, 2012
the ability to glide is an important skill…
to simply move along, putting one shoe in front of the other
when who-knows-what is what’s happening…
just keep affirming, declaring, expecting good to come from it al.
more along in that way, that St. John of the Cross called, “unknowing, 3)
just go unknowing. most people have to know before they go.
but, not us, we just go before we know how it will turn out.
sure of nothing, but certain that good will come of it.
we call that expectancy.
when we came to this house so many years ago, it was a rental.
we wanted to buy it, but it looked impossible
it wasn’t. it just looked that way.
by persisting through all appearances,
we had it happen.
expecting to buy the property,
even though we couldn’t see how to do it, worked.
