more light
i am always looking for new wisdoms about living in Vermont,
in the mountains…and i found another reason for moving here.
the 16th century Kabbalist, Rav Isaac Luria, said it was important for people
to live in homes where they can see blue sky from all the windows of the house.
he thought it was required for the soul, which was nourished by the energy
that permeates the sky. he said that the light from the sun
had to be looked at to pick up that energy of the heavens.
i agree.
one of my cohorts, who recently moved here from New York City
told me on the phone yesterday,
that he hasn’t been this happy since he was a kid.
i knew what he meant.
more light is better than more knowledge.
