more than i could ever thank them for.. may 30, 2006
putting in the air conditioners again was such a fine idea.
it made up for the roto tiller not working.
the cement on the sides of the pool is drying and Thursday
the floor will get cemented. no more leaks in our pool. that will be so good.
holding water is required for a pool that works all summer.
blueberry bushes are in.
the wood is up from the meadow.
we are more ready for summer now.
all the trees are covered with wide green leaves.
you can hardly tell that the two apple trees didn’t make ti through the winter ice.
we put a sand cherry there instead and a forsythia bush too.
I am grateful for all the good people that came to be part of our get ready weekend.
in a way it feels awkward to be so fully helped.
i am used to being the helper, not the helped.
i kept on wanting to cook for everyone and give them things
to express my thanks. then, i realized i could speak my thanks.
I thought nothing I could even say would be able to say it enough.
how contributed to, we are to have people that care about this place with us.
people giving up a holiday weekend to come and do hard work
to help keep everything going here. people who are glad to go an extra mile and exert themselves to give service.
we are so thankful to be on the receiving end of such care, concern and loving acts of kindness.
it was a hot afternoon to be lugging, tugging and running machinery
down in the deep end of the dry swimming pool.
sanding, scraping and applying layers of cement with all the frogs
barking on the sides, complaining about where the water all went suddenly.
i feel incredible appreciation for such exuberant giving.
when I said, “I don’t know how to thank you enough.” I was told,
“you have already given to us more than we could ever thank you for…”
