the little give get book
now w e are doing the little give get book. it’s very concise of a little book.
Steve Lentini gave me the one i am using this time.
it looks like a queen’s private diary book. it has gold embellishments on it.
it is the size of a million dollar bill. it fits the palm nicely. i like it.
every week day, i run around trying to remember what i am giving..
and what i a m getting, so i can put in it my columns.
some days i give ten things instead of five. some days i don’t want to give one thing.
some days i get a trillion things. some days i don’t think i got anything, until i ask
someone, “did you give me anything today?”
then they tell me the billion things they gave and/or saw me get
and i recall what a dumb ass i can be, when i sit there thinking,
” i didn’t get anything,” and in reality, i got so much.
other days, i don’t think i even gave anything to anyone. i ask my office staff,
“did i give anyone any thing today?’ then they tell me i gave away
three quilts, twelve boxes of candy, three books, four free lunches
and gas money. my mouth is hanging open.
this is over a month now, i am doing the give get book and i am learning
a lot that i thought i already knew. i am seeing that keeping track
of the GIVING increases the giving and the getting.
i am seeing that keeping track of the GETTING, shows me i get so much,
it’s hard to believe. it also shows that some days i have to ask people,
“will you give me something so i can write it in my book?” they don’t
have a problem with it. sometimes i find i have already gotten
something from them and failed to remember it.
this give get book is a really shockingly useful tool to stay awake to the truth
that giving starts everything. i think we need 72 lifetimes to really get
that a giver is who we are after all!
