wintertime here
a time of cold, crisp and unforgiving weather, where the world turns into wanting mostly
to be inside.. the warmth of a wood stove, safe confines o f intimate spaces.
a fireplace already going, a kitchen with something fragrant cooking.
beds with feathers, blankets, comforters, pillows, quilts and cats. a tighter circle,
brighter lights, conversation by the full flaming fireplace. talk, laughter and plenty of
good company. its good t o be inside looking out at the cold mountains.
people like coming to Buck Hollow. people like winter gatherings.
people like being in Vermont, where these scenes are not memories stored in scrapbooks,
seen on videos or post cards. these scenes are alive and well, happening all winter.
